Health Promotion Services

Health Promotion Services (HPS) at the Student Health Center offers a holistic approach to the patient-centered Medical Home model that encourages FIU students to engage in healthy lifestyle practices and become advocates of his or her health decisions. Trained staff is available for consultations, workshops and programs on a variety of topics, including stress management, nutrition, sleep management, sexual health, and preventative/self-care issues. Services encompass the 7 dimensions of wellness – physical, intellectual, occupational, emotional, social, spiritual and environmental. Consultations with the HPS team help students make responsible health choices, while navigating through the college environment. FIU students are encouraged to access these free services at either the Modesto Maidique and Biscayne Bay Campuses.
